Worldwide graduate struggles?

March 17, 2010 by Nicola · Leave a Comment

More statistics have been released to suggest that graduates are going back to university to study again. This is due to the lack of positions available for graduate students in the workforce. Australia is not the only country that has been effected with the lack of positions available for graduates, the UK are also very aware of this situation.

You can view the article and stats here.

ProGrad aim to rectify this mind set as we offer our services to find graduates positions in the workforce and corporate scector!

The dreaded JOB HUNT

March 3, 2010 by Nicola · Leave a Comment

When I finished University, friends who finished previously to me told me to expect to go through at least 20 interviews. I was dreading going out into the workforce, especially after seeing my friends rejected time after time and the effect that it was having upon them.

However after going through ProGrad I received the job the first interview I went to! And now I actually work for ProGrad.

Some of you graduates out there may have had the same experience as many of my friends and are at the end of themselves. It is always important to never give up and be that proactive graduate.

ProGrad is Australia’s leading assessment, placement, and training company and we are here for you! If you would like to know more about us and our services visit our website at: www.prograd.com.au or you can contact Nicola directly on (02) 8235 8300

You have been invited!

March 1, 2010 by Nicola · Leave a Comment

Over the last 4 years, ProGrad have been providing graduate talent to over 600 companies across Australia.  Primarily, our focus has been in placing candidates within the B2B sales and marketing divisions as a method for organizations to “home-grow” their own talent internally.

This concept has been successful in a variety of industries such as IT, Telecommunications, Media, Events, FMCG and Pharmaceutical.

ProGrad are now looking for candidates to be proposed for the “ProGrad Young Acheivers Awards” which will be presented in 2010.

We’re looking specifically for outstanding performance from nominated candidates that have been placed by ProGrad.  If you have had an internal success story which deserves some recognition, please let us know.  Essentially, we’re looking for candidates who have exceeded expectations, over-achieved in their roles, and are a positive representative for your organization.

If you would like to nominate any of your ProGrad recruits, please let us know by emailing Davinia directly at: davinia@prograd.com.au .

We also have an online entry form, which can be accessed by clicking here.

We would like to ensure that our first awards ceremony is conducted in the early part of 2010 to acknowledge top performers across a range of industries.

Renee a recent graduate who was placed in a full time business role through ProGrad, said she greatly appreciated the assessment day that ProGrad has to offer, “With the help of my ProGrad account manager I had a fantastic experience [at the assessment day]. I felt comfortable in  my speech as I came prepared with props for my ‘cricket’ themed speech and found it gave me good experience for interviews.”

Feeling a little helpless just after graduating?

February 14, 2010 by Nicola · Leave a Comment

Some people graduate University and discover that what they have been studying for the last four years is not the direction they want to head in life at all.

We have heard this story numerous times so at ProGrad so we do not assess people on their degree and what they passed and failed, but rather on the key competencies that they show as a person.

If you think that you are a graduate who is ambitious, confident, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills then we will have the position for you!

The positions ProGrad offer are in business to business sales with great earning potential and bonus packages.

Why business to business sales?

February 14, 2010 by Nicola · Leave a Comment

Business to business sales is a great way for a graduate to launch their corporate career. In a B2B sales role graduates will be working with the sales and marketing director and they will get to know the company’s products and services, and also their key clients.

Without B2B sales a company will fail to produce revenue and therefore cease to exist at all. B2B sales is imperative to any organisation and will give a graduate the opportunity to work on the front line and earn high levels of respect, by driving new business opportunities and carrying a high level of responsibility.

There are many pro’s in B2B sales and the main one is money. There is high earning potential in sales. Another great sales advantage is the high rewards and getting recognition from senior management. This type of role also will expose a graduate to high level business conversations and give envied access to senior management.

ProGrad is Australia’s leading assessment, training and placement company for graduate students. Sourcing the top 4% of graduates, and placing them in business to business sales roles in a whole variety of sectors. Some of these include;

Still on the recession talk

February 10, 2010 by Nicola · Leave a Comment

The latest issue of BRW states that due to the Global Financial Crisis the 2010 recovery will be uneven accross the globe. Spain, Africa, some Eastern Europe nations, as well as many Central and South American and some in the Asia-Pacific regions, are going to struggle with their recovery.

The Unites States and Australia however are on the road to recovery. China and India are in a strong lead in their increase of the standard of living, the UN and Australia expected to catch up in 2011.

Do you need a degree to secure a job?

February 10, 2010 by Nicola · Leave a Comment

The job market is highly competitive, as many of you may know, and there has been many a talk about whether or not you need a degree to secure yourself a job.

Miriam Salpeter, who wrote the article, “How important is a college degree for your job prospects?” says the way you present yourself in an interview is more important than having an academic transcript to your name. “No matter how ‘qualified’ you are, knowing how to market your qualifications is much more crucial. Your ability to connect your skills and accomplishments to an organization’s needs will be just as important as actually having the basic qualifications.”

However there are a few companies that will not even see you if you do not have a degree. Have you ever considered taking up a University course or even a tafe course?

If you do not have a degree don’t give up looking! Be willing to start at the bottom and work your way up in a company and you never know where that could lead you! A willing and positive attitude goes a long way.

ProGrad is Australia’s leading assessment, training and placement company, specializing in assisting graduates in business to business sales positions with fast growing International companies.
