ProGrad case study – Chris

May 20th, 2009 -

Chris studied at the University of Macquarie completing a Bachelor of applied finance and a post graduate diploma in accounting. Whilst at University and through his work experience; Chris developed an interest in selling whilst maintaining a passion for the finance industry. After finding a job advertised through ProGrad that required a strong ambition to join the finance industry and making it through the telephone interview, Chris was invited to attend our assessment day on the 23rd October, 2008. Regarding the assessment Chris expressed that “I was able to learn a lot on the day, regardless of whether or not I passed the day”.

Following the assessment day Chris’s said “I was interviewed by a few leaders of companies. The reason I picked Coface was because of its international structure and the opportunity it offers to work overseas. My role itself involves a number of things. I help with commercial underwriting, risk underwriting, claims and risk analysis. Coface as an organisation is a large trade credit insurance company that works with an extensive range of businesses”.

When asked about the ProGrad training Chris told us that he really enjoys the networking function of the training and applying his role in a different environment.

Chris’s advise to other graduates – “Once you have passed the assessment day, stay open to opportunities, see what is out there and think of the progression each role could offer”
